Contains lists of birds and mammals sighted; observations on flora, fauna, and physical surroundings; and news clippings about the American Ornithologists' union. The second diary documents a trip taken by Edward Preble with Vernon Orlando Bailey to Oregon, May 28 - July 9, 1896 . Contains observations on vegetation, birds, wildlife, specimens collected, and physical surroundings. Additional locations include Salt Lake City, Utah; Wasatch Mountains [Bear River Range]; Lund, British Columbia; and Valentine, Nebraska.
