Abstract

The first diary, dating from 1895 to 1899, and covers trips to British Columbia, Colorado, Maryland, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Northwest Territory, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Washington, D.C. Contains lists of birds and mammals sighted; observations on flora, fauna, and physical surroundings; and news clippings about the American Ornithologists' union. The second diary documents a trip taken by Edward Preble with Vernon Orlando Bailey to Oregon, May 28 - July 9, 1896 . Contains observations on vegetation, birds, wildlife, specimens collected, and physical surroundings. Additional locations include Salt Lake City, Utah; Wasatch Mountains [Bear River Range]; Lund, British Columbia; and Valentine, Nebraska.
