Letter from Lewis H. Steiner, a physician and librarian of Frederick, Maryland, to Edward Foreman, a clerk at the Smithsonian Institution, June 3, 1852. In the letter, Steiner regrets that he cannot share his experience of the earthquake on April 29, 1852, in Maryland, because he was not able to feel it in Frederick. Steiner writes that he send Foreman's questions about the earthquake to a friend who felt it in Jefferson, Maryland.
Foreman, Edward
